Vintage Design
Rare to find bistro table made of a circular red bakelite tray stamped Rex and a black cast iron base bearing the logo of the house of Louis Vuitton Paris. The bakelite top is supported by a cast iron shaft with a triangular cross section. Three wide stepped Art Deco legs make this table unique.
Louis Vuitton partnered with the Rex company to produce quality bistro tables in limited quantities in the 1930s. Louis Vuitton designed many furniture pieces for restaurants in the 1930s, and also a few for the Orient Express.
This bistro table with its sleek base and red top is the perfect eye-catcher and a bold statement piece in the history of fashion and interior design.
