Brutalist Mountain Chairs, Set of 4

As always at the Atelier, our hearts leap for vernacular furniture. This superb series of brutalist chairs is no exception to the rule. In medium-colored solid oak, these old mountain chairs display raw lines that will make you pale! The round, massive and essential lines are enhanced by the beauty of the assemblies, in particular the use of a wooden key struck at the back of the grooved back. The crossed crosspieces under the seat are high and full, and contribute to the “totem” spirit of these unique pieces of furniture. These old chairs have incredible charm and will give the decor a timeless, primitive character.

The chairs are old. They are made of medium-colored solid oak. Vernacular furniture, the chairs are an artisanal production, touching and careful. Mountain chairs, the lines are sober, thick, raw and highlight the assemblies, particularly the struck corners. Finally, the crosspieces under the seat are thick, crossed and very decorative. The oak is heavy and of very good quality. The patina and traces of use are touching. The wood cracked on certain parts, visible in the photo, without this affecting the solidity of the parts. The chairs are unusual, in very good condition.
