Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern 1960s elegant freestanding shelving units attributed to Danish architect Poul M. Volther. Manufactured in Denmark in the 1960s.
Opulent tapered design in a light golden mahogany, each with four height adjustable shelves, two drawers and a cabinet with drop down door. Beautiful joinery and impressive craftsmanship.
This is a very rare model of bookcase, and even more so as a mirrored pair. The veneer on the backings is cut from the same piece of mahogany, so the two bookcases match perfectly.
They each measures 110 centimeters in width and 180 centimeters in height.
Good vintage condition with light patina consistent with age and use. Few nicks and scratches and a couple of watermarks on the shelves, please see photos. Cleaned and polished, ready for use.
