Thierry Mugler’s Fall/Winter 1988/89 ‘She Devils’ show took place at Paris Fashion Week.
„The collection encapsulated Mugler’s singular style of futuristic ‘New Look’ with influences of fantasy and fetishism. Suits ripped apart to reveal brightly colored blouses, innovative bellbottoms, and midi length skirts with the intent of elongating the body were the primary focus of the collection, in mostly black heavy crepe borrowed for menswear. With a focus on his signature vampy film noir silhouette, with wide padded shoulders and tiny waists, Mugler presented a fantasy of femininity. His muse was Amazonian; strong and assertive, metropolitan rather than romantic, and this, in particular, was defined by the designers focus on sexy exaggerated collars with hidden slashed necklines. ‘She Devils’ in both design and styling, models wore their hair in horn like hairdos, spike heels, two-inch fingernails, topped with Maleficent-esque fascinators.” c by a.saleszy youtube
